Chicago Teachers Union meets on contract today - chicagotribune.com

The teachers marching in this videos didn’t look in a mood to deal to me, so no surprises here.

The teachers strike will continue Monday as the union’s House of Delegates refused to halt the walk out this afternoon and sent the work stoppage into its second week.

At a press conference after the vote, Chicago Teachers Union president Karen Lewis said that the delegates could vote to end the strike as early as Tuesday, meaning classes would not resume before Wednesday.

Members want the additional time to digest the details of the contract offer, Lewis said.
