On a conference call with veterans groups, Democratic senator Mark Begich of Alaska said of his party, "we look at the budget as a moral document." What should one conclude, then, from the failure of the Democratic controlled Senate to offer a budget for the second straight year?
I've wondered what to make of this notion Progressives often voice of Budgets as Moral documents. So what are we to make of no budgets from Democrats for the past two years?
Democrats might be better off just admitting Budgets are Political Documents, and Politics sometimes suggests doing nothing (as it seems to have suggested to Democrats for the past two years), and leave the morality out of it.
