QUESTION: What would you do with Blackwater? How about an accounting on Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki's allegation Blackwater helped spring convicted Iraqi Minister of Electricity Ahyam Alsammarae out of the IZ the Chicago Way?
OBAMA: I am not a believer in private contractors as a mechanism for serving our -- this United States.
(APPLAUSE)
You know, I, in fact, actually currently have legislation that I introduced that would do a full audit on Blackwater.
(APPLAUSE)
And they need to be held accountable for some of the actions that have already been taken.
No need to wait for after the election either. Senators Drogan and Whitehouse want to start the hearings. Tell them to start Senator Obama. Alsammarae's story a great beginning for the audit.
Then ask how the heck Blackwater chose Illinois for a campus? Some Illinois Democrats seemed awfully keen on selling the State to security firms for training.

You can keep flogging your little swiftboat attempt to "show" that Obama had dinner or something with Alsammarae and that he is therefore part of the crooked war profiteering cabal that was actually started and continues to be supported by the people you are trying to keep in office. But you need some sort of real connection rather than your silly insinuations.
Since you are interested in corruption, how about talking about McCain and his lobbyists that he has to fire by the half dozens as the public figures out who they are? Has Senator Obama ever been censured for corruption, as McCain was?
I don't have a problem with lobbyists.. they do free speech...they're part of our right to petition the Gov.
Read parts three and four of Evelyn Pringle's series. They cover the Mansion Deal.
"I don't have a problem with lobbyists.. they do free speech...they're part of our right to petition the Gov."
Then it follows that you don't think that McCain should have fired seven of them in the last month from his campaign?
Yes, if the sole reason was that they were just lobbyists...
I don't think Obama should have dropped Powers either... or treated Wright the way he did.
There has been way too much sensitivity on staff and associates that shouldn't be that sensitive.
