They look a little prehistoric. They're huge too. The wing span between six and seven feet and it looked it when it flew away.
Bill,You must live close to me as I saw two Sandhills fly over and land in a cornfield. I believe they roost in a hidden lake at a hidden forest preserve behind me as I hear them calling occasionally. They are magnificent birds. This is one reason to keep Campton Township rural and Elgin at bay.Laurel G
