Sandhill Cranes

The past two days a Sandhill Crane a spitting image of the one here, has been visiting the corn field across the road from my house. It's an amazing creature to watch and then watch it fly away.

Wow. I never saw one of those.

They look a little prehistoric. They're huge too. The wing span between six and seven feet and it looked it when it flew away.

Bill,
You must live close to me as I saw two Sandhills fly over and land in a cornfield. I believe they roost in a hidden lake at a hidden forest preserve behind me as I hear them calling occasionally. They are magnificent birds. This is one reason to keep Campton Township rural and Elgin at bay.
