It's Jews again

New York Sun on Monday writing about this paper (PDF format) by John J. Mearsheimer, a professor of political science and a co-director of the Program on International Security Policy at the University of Chicago, and Stephen M. Walt, academic dean of the Kennedy School.
A paper recently co-authored by the academic dean of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government about the allegedly far-reaching influence of an "Israel lobby" is winning praise from white supremacist David Duke.
[***]
Duke, a former Louisiana state legislator and one-time Ku Klux Klan leader, called the paper "a great step forward," but he said he was "surprised" that the Kennedy School would publish the report.
Also check the CSM and JP.

Update: March 22 Norm's thoughts,
This is a particularly unpleasant case of shoddy political propaganda packaged as scholarship. It is deeply disturbing to see it coming out of serious American universities.
Norm includes some links to others writing on the paper.

David Duke defends this paper. What more does anyone need to know? If Duke were to point out the rather bluish color of the sky, anyone who followed suit, in your book, ought to be charged with a "hate crime." Yet, it is fair to ask, just who is flying to the defense of the war you are tirelessly supporting for? No doubt some prominent Satanists support the war – such as Peter H. Gilmore, high priest of the Church of Satan. Asked "which side is the Church [sic!] rooting for?", His Evilness answers ( http://www.blacktable.com/gillin030218.htm ):

"Most Church of Satan members would support victory for the United States, since its secular form of government, as well as its culture, promotes individualism and freedom. This secularism is seen as 'Satanic' by fanatical Muslims and rightly so – from their perspective. The architects of the U.S. Government were Freemasons and they held many Satanic values, so we feel that Americans should embrace the role they give to us as 'The Great Satan.'"
