Hugh Thompson, a former Army helicopter pilot who helped save the lives of Vietnamese civilians from murderous US soldiers at My Lai, has died at 62.I'll follow up later on the comments found at Harry's Place. Please go read them. Harry's Place an excellant blog.
Early in the morning of March 16, 1968, Thompson, door-gunner Lawrence Colburn and crew chief Glenn Andreotta came upon U.S. ground troops killing Vietnamese civilians in and around the village of My Lai.
