Iran sentences teen murderer to death

You won't see any of Tookie's advocates at this young girl's side.
An Iranian court sentenced a 17-year-old woman to death by hanging for a killing she says she committed in self-defence, a newspaper has reported.

Iran ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and says it has suspended the death penalty for people accused of crimes while under 18.

But the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child last year urged Iran to halt the execution of young offenders after it hanged a 17-year old.

Hambastegi reported that the woman, identified only as "Nazanin", had stabbed an attacker after he and two other men tried to drag her and her niece into a garden.

Hmm. Maybe because she's in Iran and Tookie was in California?

*baffled as to what the two have to do with each other.

Write Kofi Annan and let him know you're watching.

Major American Protestant denominations disinvest from Isreal and yet can't get involved in Foreign Affairs when Iran is going to hang a 17 you girl in violation of Irans signing of the UN convention on the rights of a child?
