Clinton on God's tests

His [Sharon's] illness, just as 10 years ago Yitzhak Rabin’s death, puts yet another obstacle on the path of the peacemakers. It’s almost as if God was testing them one more time to rise again and to keep on,” Clinton said Monday after meeting French President Jacques Chirac in Paris. “This is the only answer in the Middle East: reconciliation of the Palestinians and the Israelis based on the sharing of a small piece of land and an enormous potential future,” he said.

I'm guessing the ex-Prez won't draw the same kind of flak as Pat Robertson.

My rule-of-thumb is leave God out of it, unless I'm talking to someone who's religous liberal, in which case I'll usually point out History certainly judges; and for me History and God sort of merge together over time.
