Insulting Turkishness (it's a crime), and the Norman conquest

Harry's Place on Turkish novelist Orhan Pamuk,
He faces trial for remarks about Turkey's killing of Armenians during World War I and Kurds in the 1980s.

Ankara denies the deaths can be classed as a genocide and accuses Mr Pamuk of "insulting Turkishness".

He could face up to three years in jail if convicted.

And Harry notes congrats due Norman Geras of NormsBlog voted number one UK blog,

Many natural leftwingers who could not resolve mixed feelings about the coming war found themselves visiting Normblog. "It was like a secret handshake - 'Do you read Norm?'" is how one journalist puts it.
Norm blogrolled me a few months ago.... so I feel pretty honored to have been acknowledged by him.
